Nordic Paper has been producing paper in Scandinavia since the late 19th century and makes top- quality paper and pulp for customers in more than 80 countries. Their four paper mills and two pulp mills produce top-quality products while meeting and exceeding strict Nordic environmental standards.
The company decided to digitalise their operations to ensure a more effective RFQ process and take advantage of the latest technology.
“We wanted to make our RFQ process as effective as possible and were aware that doing everything manually wasn’t the best way. When you have customers in more than 80 countries carrying out an RFQ in Excel is a challenge! TenderEasy provided the technology and expertise to take us to the next level.”
Successful road and ocean tenders

Following a demo, Nordic Paper decided to go with TenderEasy to run their road RFQ. “The analysis was much quicker and easier, and once I got the grip of the tool, I was able to customise multiple parameters to make sure we were going out to as many relevant suppliers as possible. We make premium products and we need to make sure they are delivered by premium carriers.” The solution enabled the team to rapidly analyse responses and identify those that provided the best fit.
Freight experts on hand to offer support
TenderEasy also includes an advisory service as part of the package and this proved great value to Nordic Paper “It was really useful having an expert there to advise on best practice and help define the various parameters that we needed to consider,” said Högberg. After the road tender, the team at Nordic Paper is in a much stronger position for subsequent tenders as all data is now stored within TenderEasy.
Following a successful road tender, Nordic Paper again relied on TenderEasy to run an ocean tender a year later. This time Nordic Paper was already armed with their learnings from the previous RFQ, but also benefitted from the experience of one of TenderEasy’s ocean freight specialists. “We got plenty of practical advice from the TenderEasy support team, ranging from design of the RFQ to ensure maximum participation by the bidders to how to efficiently validate data, analyse and share feedback. We also got a lot of good input for the future and identified numerous opportunities for further improvement.”
Moving to a consolidated data collection and picking up best practice from industry experts has left Nordic Paper in a much stronger position than before.
