Can a tendering software do everything you do?



Working for TenderEasy, we’ve welcomed many new and happy users over the years. We’ve also met a fair bit of resistance from potential customers before acceptance. These can be of different nature, ranging from technical aspects and abilities to more circumstantial doubts. 

One thing we hear from time to time is this: If we implement TenderEasy, then what am I supposed to do with my time? Freight tendering is what I do. 

While we’re happy that the message of the potential time savings has struck a chord, we’d like to use this blog to set the record straight on time savings vs. the ability to focus on what’s important. 

Imagine the following scenario, a common theme among potential TanderEasy users: 
You feel that the manual approach in freight procurement, with its communication via e-mails and sharing excel sheets, is quite cumbersome, especially the more complex your business grows and the more suppliers you invite.
When it comes to bid comparison in excel, really comparing apples with apples and then, on top, running different scenarios is almost impossible.

At the same time, you have just been explained the advantages of TenderEasy and the benefits that come along with it. Imagine: no more Friday nights at the office (or home office these days) compiling bids, no more manipulated files that prevent you from actually comparing the bids, smooth communication with your bidders, full visibility of the process, etc. etc.
But still, something is holding you back.

Even though you are perfectly aware of all the advantages of TenderEasy, when you come to think of it, there is this one tiny item bothering you: If a tendering solution can do that – what will you do? Will your job become obsolete?

Take a deep breath. Relax. The simple truth is that the tendering solution can do a lot for you and make your life much easier - hey, and after all, we are called TenderEasy. 

So yes, our solution will support you and significantly reduce the time you spend on non-value-adding time, like cleaning data, validating bids, constructing and checking excel formulas, etc. But: It cannot (and doesn’t want to) replace your expertise. 

It merely provides you with more time to focus into what matters in your tendering process, such as negotiations and decision making. So in very short, the answer to the initial question if your job will become obsolete when using a RFQ solution is “no”.
