Freight tendering in 6 steps
everything you need to know to get started

STEP 1

Build a Baseline
Gather the baseline (shipping profile) from your TMS or get it from your existing logistic service providers. A baseline is your "current situation", your shipments and volumes being shipped. Check the info to make sure it is complete.

STEP 2

Create Tender
Create the tender and add information about your company, goods being shipped, hard and soft requirements. All LSPs invited should have sufficient knowledge about your requirements in order for them to make an offer that meets your expectations.

STEP 3

Add Bidding Sheets
Add bidding sheets for the different pricing structures you want to run. Use best-practice templates available in TenderEasy and adjust them to your needs. Make input fields very clear, add instructions. Load current prices to cross-check that they match up reasonably with your baseline.

STEP 4

Start Tender

Launch the tender and bidders are automatically invited via email and guided how to create a secure login on the tendering platform. Bidding process is normally a process that takes some weeks where questions may arise. Share questions and answers (FAQ) with bidding participants in the platform.

STEP 5

Analyse Bids

Once bids are received, it is time to run scenarios and make your analysis. Run scenarios to try various bid combinations, to maximise the cost vs service ratio for your businesses. Provide precise feedback and run the bid cycle again. During negotiations the scenarios empowers you to simulate on the fly giving you leverage.

STEP 6
Award
When final adjustments are received and verified in the platform. Allocate volume and award the business to the LSPs. Create your final scenario with the result, share nominated lane allocation with stakeholders. The LSP will see their awards in the platform and it will be the price-list of the agreement.
